With more than 25 years of experience in the jewelry business, we provide unparalleled, quality service in jewelry valuation. An accurate appraisal of a jewelry piece makes it possible to determine its real value, something essential when dealing with an inheritance, taking out an insurance policy or for purposes of a sale. At Blanca Vidal Appraisers, we provide absolute discretion and impartiality.
We appraise jewelry for inheritance planning and distribution. Determining the value of jewelry pieces that have either been inherited or will be left in inheritance is a fundamental step when bequeathing a lecacy.
We provide legal services in conjunction with law firms, as jewelry appraisal is required when claims are being made in legal proceedings.
We provide appraisal for insurance companies. In order to accurately insure a piece of jewelry, we must be able to determine its real value. The valuation report is the official document which provides this information.

“Appraisal is one of the most complex tasks in the Jewelry and Gemology Trade
“Contrary to common assumptions, jewelry appraisal requires in-depth scientific expertise. The appraiser must be knowledgeable in gems; know their composition, formation, syntheses and recognize imitations, be able to distinguish metals, alloys, techniques, counterfeits or falsifications, copies, alterations, nomenclature, etc.
It is fundamental to master the use of tools and equipment and possess the necessary skills to handle the many material and document-related resources that we have at our disposal for analysis and valuation. The appraiser must have an extensive background in history, economics, pricing, be well-acquainted with the national and international markets and auction houses, be able to identify current supply and demand, and must continuously update his or her knowledge.”
